“ Amazing food, service and atmosphere. I sat at the counter, had a really nice chat with a regular and got excellent service from a lady whose name I forgot. I wasn’t sure what variety of oyster to pick (eastern or western), so she gave me both for the price of one. The regular recommended that I had the salmon or the sand dabs, but I felt more like seafood. The mussels and clams in broth was so delicious that I think I should go back and try the fish - unfortunately it’s a long way from Brazil, so might take me a while. Also heard they have the best cioppino in town, but that was way too big for one person. Nothing on the menu was too pricey for the quality. This place made me understand the true vibe of San Francisco, I think. I appreciate that. ”

“ Sotto Mare is a world famous restaurant here in the North Beach Area of SF. If you’re into seafood this is the spot, very bustling on a Friday night. I called for a reservation for 6 people and they said 930 was the earliest. We were in the area and they called us sooner, the options to sit were either outside or in the basement and we opted for up front since we had a large group. It’s pretty tight indoors but this local establishment is worth visiting if you’re from out of town, all about seafood! You have to get their Cioppino, we ordered 2 for our group. We also did oysters, clams, the special halibut, lobster ravioli, linguini and some drinks! It was way more than enough for 6 people. The food came out quickly and tasted SO fresh. Parking can be difficult since it’s a pretty busy area, there’s street parking and some paid parking lots. Might be easier to park in a garage further and walk over. Staff was super friendly and worked quickly! Gotta visit this spot if you’re in for seafood and in the area! ”

“ We took cioppino to go. It was delicious, it includes penne pasta which was different, but worked! We got it in a literal bucket, with half a baguette, parm , chilli flakes and butter on a side. For 62, me and my friend ate it for lunch till we were uncomfortably full and there was still enough left for dinner. What a value, what a perfect day of seafood indulgence! ”
